Motorcycle Accident Claims the Life of a Port Charlotte Man

Early Monday morning major accident involving a motorcycle happened in Port Charlotte. The accident happened at the intersection of County Road 771 and Keystone Blvd just before 9 p.m.
The rider of the motorcycle, George Souza was pronounced dead at Englewood Community Hospital shortly following the accident.
Souza was riding a 2011 Harley Davidson on County Road 771. As he started to turn left onto Keystone Blvd, he came into the path of a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner.
The 4-Runner was driving north on County Road 771. The driver and the two young children in the SUV were not injured due to the proper use of seat belts and child restraints. According to the accident report, Souza was not wearing a helmet.
