The driving error of a young motorcyclist, Tyler Ryan Castillo, 19, resulted in him being critically injured in an accident in Sarasota.  Mr. Castillo was driving his motorcycle on Bee Ridge road. The accident occurred when he collided with a Ford Escape. The original collision caused him to fall off of the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued to a grass median and was stopped when it struck a tree.

After Castillo fell off of the motorcycle, he fell onto the westbound lanes of Bee Ridge Road. He was then hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. No news as to whether he was wearing a helmet or not.

The Florida Highway Patrol was called in to investigate the accident. They determined that Mr. Castillo was driving carelessly. He was cited for careless driving and driving with an expired registration.

The occupants of both the Ford Escape, and the Ford f-150 involved in the accident were not injured.

Mr. Castillo was taken by BayFlite helicopter to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. He suffered a broken leg and is in stable condition.
