Scott R. Parker was driving a 1999 Ford Mustang on U.S. 301 when he was hit by a drunk driver. The driver later revealed as Siosaia Fonua was driving a 1995 Mercury when he left the scene of the accident. Scott Parker was pronounced dead at the scene, while Siosaia Fonua sustained minor injuries.

Siosaia Fonua was charged with DUI manslaughter, driving on a suspended license, and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. According to court records, he has a lengthy criminal record including several DUI’s, the first one being in 2001 when he was just 18 years old.

In addition to his driving under the influence charges, his criminal record also includes; felony robbery charges, providing a false name to Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies, and driving on a suspended license.
