Many deaths have occurred recently in motorcycle accidents in Florida, with several of them taking place in Sarasota County. The latest fatal Sarasota County motorcycle accident took place on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Ronald A. Willemstyn, 52, of Sarasota, died as a result of injuries he received in the crash, which happened about half past noon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Willemstyn was driving his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Constitution Boulevard, near Savannah Drive, when the motorcycle crossed over into the westbound lane and drove onto the shoulder of the road. As the motorcycle overturned on its left side, Willemstyn hit his head on a landscaping boulder; he was not wearing a helmet. The bike then overturned on its right side before coming to a stop.

Rescue workers rushed Willemstyn to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, where he died from his injuries.

The police are investigating the accident and are not sure why Willemstyn lost control of his bike.

Because of the recent surge in fatal motorcycle accidents in Sarasota, biking enthusiasts are urging riders and motor vehicle drivers to be more cautious on the road.

The Sarasota motorcycle accident attorneys at Mallard Perez extend their condolences to Ronald Willemstyn’s family and friends.
