On Thursday, August 8, 2013, a serious motor vehicle accident in Sarasota occurred on one of the city’s busiest roads—Bee Ridge Road. According to reports, this crash took place just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning and sent two people to the hospital with very serious injuries.

According to deputies, a driver in a 2000 Buick was stopped at the intersection of Heritage Oaks Road and Bee Ridge Road. He started to make a left-hand turn and pulled directly into the path of another vehicle. The other car, a 1999 Chevy, was headed south on Bee Ridge Road when the accident occurred.

Peggy L. Creadon, 63, driver of the Chevy, attempted to swerve to avoid hitting the Buick that had pulled out in front of her, but could not avoid this Sarasota car crash. According to the police report, Creadon hit her brakes and steered left. Despite her efforts, the front of the car struck the left side of the Buick, driven by 89-year-old Barney R. Radov.

Creadon was seriously injured and taken to Doctors Hospital. Radov also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Blake Medical Center for care. Sadly, Radov died of his injuries, and Creadon is still in serious condition.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Creadon had the right-of-way when the collision occurred.

The Sarasota auto accident attorneys at Mallard Perez would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Radov, and we would like to wish Peggy Creadon a full and fast recovery during this time.
