Bradenton Woman, Sarasota Man Involved in Manatee County Car Accident

A four-vehicle automobile accident, occurring at the intersection of Cooper Creek Boulevard and University parkway in Manatee County, left one man critically injured. The injured party, a 61-year-old man from Nokomis, Florida, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center following the Manatee County car crash. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident at approximately 7:35 a.m. on July 25, 2011.
Involved in the multi-vehicle Florida car accident were:
a 2006 Honda Pilot
a 2010 Ford Edge
a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser
The injured 61-year-old man was driving the 2010 Ford Edge. A 30-year-old Bradenton woman was driving the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The Honda Pilot was being driven by a 61-year-old, and the GMC Sierra was being driven by a 55-year-old Sarasota man who also had a 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle.
The multi-car accident occurred when the Honda Pilot rear ended the Ford Edge as it was stopped for traffic on University Parkway. The Ford Edge was in the left lane, east of Cooper Creek Boulevard at the time of the accident. After it was struck, the Ford Edge was pushed into the back of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. It also continued west into the center lane, where it struck the GMC Sierra.
In addition to the critical injuries suffered by the driver of the 2010 Ford Edge, the drivers of the Honda Pilot and Chrysler PT Cruiser also suffered minor injuries. These victims were taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the GMC Sierra and his minor passenger were uninjured.
Financial damages incurred by the accident include:
$10,000 of damage to the Ford Edge
$5,000 of damage to the Honda Pilot
$3,000 of damage to the Chrysler PT Cruiser
$2,000 damage to the GMC Sierra
