You may not even be aware that you are breaking the law, but Florida has some very unusual laws.

Did you know that in Sarasota it is illegal to sing in a public place while wearing a swim suit?

In West Palm Beach, the roofs of all outhouses must be fireproof.

In Big Pine Key, if you are caught molesting a deer you could be fined or sent to jail.

If you do not own a house in Cape Coral, you can’t hang a clothes line or park a pick-up truck in the drive way.

It is illegal to be drunk and under the influence of narcotics at the same time.

According to Florida law, rats are forbidden to leave the ships docked in Tampa Bay. Also in Tampa, It is illegal to eat cottage cheese after 6:00pm on Sunday.

Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal.

It is illegal to fish while driving across a bridge.

It is illegal to expel flatus in a public place after 6:00pm on a Thursday.

One must have a license to skateboard.

In Key West, chickens are considered a protected species.

It is illegal for a doctor to ask a patient whether they own a gun.

Pregnant pigs are not to be confined in cages.

It is illegal to sell your children.

To shower naked is considered offensive.

Penalty for Horse theft is death by hanging.

Although these laws may seem silly, at one point in time I am sure they were relevant.
